If the weather relents, this evening
sees the first of three successive home games. With the postponement of
last Monday`s game at Beaconsfield adding to the backlog of fixtures, there
is certainly going to be a very busy end of season for the Blues. And yet
Marlow have played upto 4 games more than some teams and so they are certainly
facing 2 midweek games on many occasions for the remainder of the season.
A week ago Saturday we saw a very entertaining game hereagainst the League
leaders Hitchin Town, and a 1-1 draw was probably a fair result although
Marlow did have a number of chances to win towards the end of the 90 minutes.
We did not seem to have many complaints about the refereeing performance
although our visitors did have according their website. We had hoped to
build on this performance on the following Monday with the visit to Beaconsfield
SYCOB, but this was called off during the day because of the amount of rain
which had fallen. So last Saturday the team travelled to Bromsgrove Rovers
and came away with a 0-2 loss. Mr Grouser only has Terry`s report to give
him an idea of the game played on a very wet pitch. Nothing to celebrate
so Mr Grouser was not missed!
After this evening`s game against AFC Sudbury there are still 8 home games
and 7 away games to be played this season. We hope that many of you will
join the famous BBGG and cheer the Blues to victory.
