The award covers 15 teams for children from under7s to under16s, including girls’ teams. The club is run entirely by volunteers.
Players from Marlow Youth feed into the adult teams of the parent club, Marlow FC, through which it is affiliated to the FA.
The Charter standard is a rare award provided to Youth football clubs who achieve stringent minimum standards for
Coaching qualifications,
Child protection and equity
Codes of conduct for players, officials and parents
Administration, Fund Raising, Insurance and support for volunteers
A Club Development Manual has been produced with input from the FA and local volunteers to help each team manager.
Brian Moore, Chief Exec of Berks & Buck FA says:
‘Marlow Youth become one of only 20 clubs in Berks & Bucks who have received this award. This underlines the achievement of the club to work within the specified guidelines as laid down by the FA. This includes the very important issue of the welfare of the children being uppermost in their objectives.’
